My name is Alana and I am an Indigenous Canadian Certified Counsellor. My passion is
working with Indigenous and other BIPOC communities, along with children and youth. My
goal is to provide Indigenous populations with psychological healing that is based in Indigenous
knowledge and aims to target colonial trauma. My methods are holistic and have foundations in
the Medicine Wheel and Two-Eyed Seeing where I bring a mix of Western evidence-based
practices combined with traditional Indigenous teachings and cultural practices.
My current focus is Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT), EMDR, and Emotionally Focused
Family Therapy (EFFT) with attachment-based theories.
I have completed training and workshops that focus on trauma-informed therapies, EMDR,
Indigenous Awareness training, and Indigenous Allyship training.
Areas of Practice: Individuals, youth, and families. General mental health counselling and can
include trauma, grief and loss, life transitions, anxiety, depression, self-esteem, and stress-related
