Clients I am accepting: Individual counselling sessions for people aged 14 years and up. Couples and family therapy. Mental health counselling can include trauma, life transitions, grief and loss, anxiety, depression, substance misuse, identity, self-esteem, or other distressing situations.
Bio: I am a Canadian Certified Counsellor through the Canadian Counselling and Psychotherapy Association and can offer trauma-informed counselling and mental health support to individuals, couples, and older youth, as I am completing EMDR training and am a level 2 trained Gottman Method Couples Therapy practitioner.
Honouring the Medicine Wheel, I believe that mental health includes connections and balance with our mental, spiritual, physical, and emotional health. Working through a trauma-informed and attachment lens, I utilise a positive psychology and strengths-based approach in order to be person-centred and solution focussed in counselling sessions. In my practice, I use cognitive behavioural therapy, dialectical behaviour therapy, narrative therapy, and existential therapy. When working with couples, I utilise Gottman Method Couples Therapy.
I have also completed the Advanced Master Program on the Treatment of Trauma through the National Institute for the Clinical Application of Behavioural Medicine, Telehealth Certification, Trauma Treatment Certification, and Culturally Responsive Approaches to Mental Health for Native Youth through Stanford University among other trainings that allow me to offer a range of modalities to best suit your needs.
