My Story

I have had the pleasure of completing my practicum, and now transitioning to a Mental Health Therapist with Indigenous Psychological Services. My practice is rooted in a trauma-informed approach, ensuring that every client's unique experiences and resilience are honored. I work collaboratively with clients, drawing on evidence-based therapies such as Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT), Dialectical Behavior Therapy (DBT), EMDR Therapy, and mindfulness-based practices to help them achieve their goals.

As a non-Indigenous ally, I am committed to continual learning and fostering culturally safe spaces in my practice. I respect the profound impact of intergenerational trauma and work to ensure that my approach is sensitive to the historical and cultural contexts of the individuals and communities I serve.

I believe in the power of connection, empathy, and empowerment to facilitate healing. Whether working with children, adolescents, or adults, my goal is to help clients feel heard, supported, and empowered on their mental health journey.

LAND ACKNOWLEDGMENT

We acknowledge that we gather on the traditional territories of Treaties 4, 6, 7, and 8 on Turtle Island—ancestral land of many Nations, including the Blackfoot Confederacy (Kainai, Piikani, Siksika), Cree, Dene, Saulteaux, Nakota Sioux, Stoney-Nakoda, Tsuu T’ina, and the Métis Peoples.

We honour the deep connection of these Nations to the land, and our shared responsibility to protect and respect Mother Earth. We pay tribute to the ancestors, the children, the missing and murdered Indigenous women and men, and all those who rest here.

We recognize the ongoing journey of healing and the shared duty of all treaty people. We stand in solidarity with those present, forgotten, and lost, and seek guidance and wisdom from the land.
