Horeya has completed her internship at In at Indigenous PsychologicalServices. She currently completing Masters of Counselling.  She is a Non-Indigenous Ally She also works with a diverse population of individuals from different cultural background dealing with trauma and PTSD. She utilizes a trauma informed approach with EMDR. EMDR is an effective approach for treating and reprocessing trauma She also draws from Narrative Therapy, Solution Focused Therapy, Cognitive Behavioral Therapy, mindfulness, and cultural diversity. She helps individuals to resolve unprocessed traumatic memories to allow the brain to resume its natural healing process

Clients accepting: Anxiety, panic attacks, and phobias, Grief and loss, Performance anxiety, PTSD and other trauma and stress-related issues, Sexual assault, Substance abuse and addiction and Violence and abuse. *Not Accepting* Clients with extremely severe or complex issues

 

Bio: I work with a diverse population of individuals from different cultural backgrounds dealing with trauma and PTSD. I utilise Narrative Therapy (NT), Solution Focused Therapy (SFT) and Cognitive Behavioural Therapy (CBT), mindfulness, and cultural diversity in my practice from a person-centred approach. I believe individuals are experts in their own lives and deserve mental health aside from physical health. Through EMDR, I work with individuals going through grief, trauma, PTSD helping individuals to resolve unprocessed traumatic memories to allow the brain to resume its natural healing process. I am currently volunteering with Chrysalis Network, a national human trafficking hotline, as a counsellor providing care for the survivors of human sex trafficking.

 

Qualifications and trainings: Masters Student, EMDR, Post Traumatic Stress Disorder Hours of availability with Telehealth and In-Person:

Tuesday and Fridays: 10:00 AM-2:00 PM

 

*NOTE* Alternate Saturdays: 10 AM-2 PM
